I am an Associate Professor of Economics (tenured) at Vienna University of Economics and Business and Research Affiliate at IZA-Institute of Labor Economics, at the University of Oxford's Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) and at the Global Labor Organization (GLO). Currently, I am visiting Brown University until October 2024. I received my PhD from Queen Mary University of London. Before joining WU, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford's Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS).
I am a co-organizer of the Vienna Applied Microeconomics Network.
My research covers topics in the fields of labour economics, migration and crime. As a first-generation scholar, my research is driven by an understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged families. I primarily focus on identifying and analyzing policies that negatively impact these families, aiming to uncover the root causes of poverty and its transmission across generations. Currently, my research concentrates on understanding the roots of inequality and exploring how empowering disadvantaged women can improve their children's future outcomes.
